TCI completed the feasibility study for one of Pakistan’s largest proposed water infrastructure investments — the 120 m high, 5 km long Akhori Dam with 600 MW of hydropower generation and a 37 km lined canal transferring regulated discharges into the Jhelum River system. The study incorporated detailed hydrological and hydraulic modelling, sediment management strategy development, geotechnical investigations, reservoir optimization, environmental and social assessments, and an economic feasibility analysis. Supporting both flood attenuation and bulk water storage, the US $4.5 billion project would form a major element of Pakistan’s long-term water-energy-food security strategy
